There are three core marketing tenets I believe in:

2. Try to avoid "random acts of marketing" — a disconnected array of marketing tactics, loosely organized.
3. Hire brilliant, hard-working people who are expert in at least one area of marketing, but are eager to freely contribute their ideas in other areas.
I take a holistic and action-oriented approach to marketing, first ensuring that the company positioning and value props are sound, then building a tight and clear go-to-market strategy partnering with sales and product, all before executing a full range of the right marketing tactics as needed and as appropriate.
I can (and have), worked effectively with very small budgets as well as multi-million dollar ones. For the past 20+ years, I've been the CMO at some incredibly fast growth companies (Salesforce, Flexport among others), and I've also been among the first 50 employees at a number of early stage startups, where I personally did a lot of the heavy lifting — a"team" of one.
I can operate very effectively at a strategic level, but I'm a hands-on executor as well. And yes, I've written many a website and brochure.
